About

R I C H I E P O P E

Growing up in Newport News VA, I played outside in neighborhoods of odd characters, patchy grass, abandoned lots and forgotten alleyways. I played inside with American and Japanese cartoon shows, comic books and video games. As I document both life and imagination in my sketchbook, my work intertwines the world around me with the world inside my head.

I’ve been asked recently what supplies I use to make my work.

Well for starters, I use this.

I also use scanned-in textures, graphite sticks and occasionally paint. The rest is left in the hands of this.

I know it was a long read, but those are the tools that I use to make what I make.

I’ll have a post briefly discussing how I use these materials very soon.

Goodnight, kids.
